In 1976, she became a global celebrity in 1976 when she made the most perfect ever 10 on the asymmetric bar during the Montreal Olympic Games. And, to top it off the feat, she achieved six more perfect 10s, which made her the youngest Olympic gold medalist in history, at just 14 years of age. The accomplishments of Nadia Comaneci have not just drawn attention in all directions however she also assisted Romania to find a spot on the international map. With an impossible result she became a legendary figure and promoted athletics across the globe. The perception of women athletes also changed due to her performances. This was due to the effect she made during the Olympics in the same way that both moves toe-on (toes on) and release are named for her. These two moves have been regarded, to this day, as challenging. In addition to the Olympics the performance of her was outstanding at both World Championships (World Championships) as well as the European Championships.
